With thanks to cask strength bottling, non-chill filtration, and of course single cask ageing, each bottle of The Glenlivet Quercus is as pure as possible. The American white oak gives The Glenlivet Quercus a wonderful depth of flavour and rich golden hue, with mellow, soft notes and a long finish: Nose: Soft, ripe red apples intertwined with baked almonds. Mellow floral notes crescendo into a zesty flourish. Taste: A soft, smooth, creaminess gradually develops until the whisky hints at chewy, sticky toffee. A delicate floral note creeps in, which lingers tantalisingly until a final burst of Seville orange rounds it off. Finish: Long, sweet and very slightly dry.

Part of Glenmorangie’s Prestige Range, this 18 year old spent its first 15 years in American white oak bourbon casks. After this time, 30% was transferred to Oloroso sherry casks where it spent its final days, as the rest remained in bourbon casks. After 18 years has passed in total, the whisky was reunited and bottled at 43% ABV. A thick, creamy and fruity single malt presented in a wonderfully elegant bottle.

A perennial favourite and a must-try for anyone interested in discovering Japanese whisky. Hakushu is owned by Suntory, founders of the first Japanese distillery, Yamazaki. The original Hakushu distillery was built in 1973, with another distillery building called Hakushu Higashi (east) added in 1981.

A Perfect Measure sample bottle of 12 year old blended whisky from Hibiki, some of the whisky has been part-matured in plum liqueur casks. Lovely malt from Hakushu and Yamazaki, plus some aged grain from Chita, this terrific Japanese blend picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010.

A fantastic Japanese blend, made with aged malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's three distilleries. Spicy and sophisticated, this is great for catching people out at blind tastings. Recently awarded a Gold 'Editor's Choice' award from Whisky Magazine and picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010.

Hibiki 21 years is an incredible blended whisky which has won many awards around the World, previously picking up the 'Best Blended Whisky' gong and Jim Murray has award it 92 points. Smooth sweet fruit flavours, dark wood and very complex, it's dangerously easy to drink!

After Suntory had set the Hibiki 17 years in the same month, the Hibiki Blender's Choice on the Japanese market. For this top blend only selected malt and grain whisky was used, with a minimum age of 15 years. What an absolute novelty with this blend, which was also used for the first time also whisky with red wine barrel finish!

A radiant whisky in a bottle designed especially to evoke the distinctive sharpness and coolness of the Ice Realm. Up-front, vivid aromas of cool, fresh pineapple and mango sorbet give way to silvery shards of smoke and the frosty kick of root ginger. The palate is powerful yet smooth, misty peat-smoked inter-twined with vanilla seeds, just like the Ice Giants themselves. A beautifully balanced finish with lingering woodiness and spices.

Released to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of Lagavulin distillery by John Johnston in 1816, this eight-year-old is big and smoky, with sweet spice that becomes apparent with a drop of water. Inspired by the visit of Alfred Barnard to the distillery in the 1880s when he tried an 'exceptionally fine' eight-year-old from the distillery, this is a fitting tribute for the milestone.

A vibrant young Laphroaig whose maturation has been accelerated by ageing in quarter casks. This shows soft sweetness and a velvety feel when first tasted, then the intense peatiness so unique to Laphroaig comes bursting through. A terrific whisky and great value.
